Program Description

Event Details

MRSPL and Bards Alley will co-host local authors Susie Dumond and Chip Pons talking about their new contemporary romance books! A book signing will follow the author talk. Copies of the authors' books will be available for sale at the event, or you can reserve copies by calling Bards Alley at 571-459-2653.

Susie Dumond's Bed and Breakup tells the story of Molly and Robin, two exes who reunite to fix up and sell the Hummingbird Inn, the bed-and-breakfast that destroyed their marriage -- because some dreams, no matter how dusty or broken, deserve a second change. Their love story is a bit of a fixer-upper!

Winging It With You is popular bookstagrammer Chip Pons's gay rom-com about two men who impulsively pose as a couple to compete in a reality show contest just minutes after meeting at an airport, and their run-in with the very real feelings that start to simmer between them.

About the Authors

Susie Dumond is a queer writer originally from Little Rock, Arkansas. She is the author of Queerly Beloved, Looking for a Sign, and Bed and Breakup, and she also talks about books as a senior contributor at Book Riot and a bookseller at her local indie bookstore. Susie lives in Washington, D.C., with her spouse, Mickey, and her cat, Maple. When she's not writing or reading, you can find her baking cupcakes or belting karaoke at the nearest gay bar.

Chip Pons grew up in a small lake town in Northern Michigan before eventually traveling the world as a photojournalist in the US Air Force, where he met and worked alongside his dream of a husband and better half. He’s spent his entire life swooning over the love stories filling up his shelves until one day, he was brave—or delusional—enough to write his own. He currently lives in the heart of Washington, DC. and when he is not writing or chasing his pup, Margot, around, he can be found daydreaming of untold happily ever afters or on Bookstagram shouting about the books he loves. And snacking, like, all the time.
