No FCHR Walk-in Hours on July 14 or 16

There will be no walk-in hours for the Falls Church History Room (FCHR) on Monday, July 14 (normally 1 pm - 5 pm) or Wednesday, July 16 (normally 4 pm - 8 pm). Please visit archive.mrspl.org to access photos, death notices, and many other materials from our FCHR collection. Or contact us to schedule an appointment to access the room. Thank you! 

Libby/Overdrive PIN Verification

Due to recent technical issues with our Libby/Overdrive service, MRSPL cardholders may need to re-verify their PIN/password in Libby. If prompted to verify your MRSPL card, try using the 10-digit phone number (no dashes or spaces) that we have on file in your library account as your PIN/password. If you have set a custom password/PIN, use that custom PIN/password in Libby. If you continue to have issues re-verifying, or need to reset your password, please contact the library at 703-248-5031 (TTY 711) or consult our password reset instructions.

Thursday, July 3, 2025: You can still sign up for our 2025 Summer Reading Program, which runs through August 10 and is open to anyone ages 0-125!

Prevent the summer slide or just challenge yourself to sink into some good books this summer! Sign up for Summer Reading at the library started June 3rd.

Programs for all ages, 0-125!

Dates to remember:

  • First day to sign up and start logging books: June 1
  • Last day to sign up for Summer Reading: August 10
  • Prizes available starting: August 11
  • Last day to log books and pick up prizes: August 30
  • Raffle prizes pulled: September 3

How do I participate in Summer Reading?

  1. Visit Mary Riley Styles Public Library starting June 1 to sign up and get your bingo card!
  2. Get Bingo (read five books) to earn a free book at the end of the summer.
  3. Earn awesome prizes the more you read!

What are the Summer Reading Prizes?

First Bingo:

Read-to-Me: free book.

Independent Readers: free book and a coupon book.

Teens & Adults: free book and raffle entry.

Clean Sweep (entire Bingo board):

Read-to-Me & Independent Readers: another free book!

Teens & Adults: another free book and an additional raffle entry!

Our book prizes for kids and teens are generously purchased by the Mary Riley Styles Public Library Foundation! Adults will receive a coupon for a free book from the Book Sale.

Teen & Adult Raffle Prize for 2025: Gift cards to area businesses!

Prizes must be claimed in person, no prizes will be mailed.
