Small Donations
One Box or less
We can accept small donations of one box or less on the yellow cart just across from the service desk as you enter the library during regular library hours.
Large Donations
More than one box
Larger quantities may be delivered to the back door (on the south side of the building) during business hours between 10 am and 5pm.
What can the library take?
- New and gently used hardcover and paperback books
- DVDs in original casing and in playable condition
- We have a puzzle exchange for jigsaw puzzles located in the Adult Reading Room. Give one, take one!
What can't the library take?
- Popular magazines
- CDs, VHS, or Music Records
- Encyclopedias
- Textbooks or workbooks
- Non-book items like board games and craft supplies
- Moldy, mildewed, or strongly smelling items
- Dirty or broken items
- Heavily marked or highlighted books
- Items discarded by other libraries
How Your Donation is Used...
Donated materials may be added to the library collection or may be sold in the library’s ongoing or monthly book sales.
They may also be donated to other charitable institutions, or may ultimately need to be recycled.
Every effort is made to find the best possible use for every donated item.
