Author Brendan Slocumb returns to the library to talk about Symphony of Secrets, the followup to his breakout mystery novel, The Violin Conspiracy. In this gripping new  page-turner, a professor uncovers a shocking secret about the most famous American composer of all time—that his music was stolen from a young Black composer. 

This event is co-hosted with Bards Alley Bookshop. Mr. Slocumb's books may be ordered through their website at www.bardsalley.com and will also be available for purchase on site at the event. A book signing will follow the author talk.

Registration Required: Please register using the form below. Seating is limited to 75 people. If registration fills, we will have a wait list for any cancellations or no-shows.

About the Author

Brendan Nicholaus Slocumb was born in Yuba City, California and raised in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He holds a degree in music education (with concentrations in violin and viola) from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. For more than twenty years he has been a public and private school music educator and has performed with orchestras throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC.

In his spare time, Brendan enjoys writing, exercising, collecting comic books and action figures, and performing with his rock band, Geppetto's Wüd.
