MRSPL 125th Anniversary

We are celebrating our library's 125th anniversary!

We kicked off a year of celebration with an open house on January 13 where more than 110 people attended our special birthday-themed story time. We also held a ceremony that included the reading of our 125th Anniversary Proclamation and an unveiling of a new portrait of our name-sake, Mary Riley Styles. Guests enjoyed our 1899 candies, donned Victorian accessories in our selfie booth, and browsed our 1899 book collection, all the while learning more about the history of our library. And we were very honored to meet Mary Riley Styles' great-great-grandson who was in attendance.

Be sure to visit our new anniversary web page, attend special programming throughout the year, discover 125 great things at the library, and follow our social media for glimpses of our historical photos and records.

We hope you'll continue to celebrate our anniversary with us throughout 2024! Feel free to use #mrspl125years if you're posting anything library-related on social media.
