Event Details

As we or loved one’s age, transitions regarding the where and how we live becomes overwhelming.  We get stuck. Based in well-sourced research and best practices, the course focuses on understanding the three predictable paths through transitions and offers practical strategies for moving forward.

Participants will learn how to: 

  1. Understand the complex, human side of change.
  2. Recognize the three non-linear experience of transitions.
  3. Know two tools to navigate resistance while simultaneously moving forward.
  4. Recognize resources for enabling transitions.

Instructor:  Ruth DeHart is a transition strategist focused on psychological side of age-related change including aging in place, relocation, and accessibility.  As owner of Evolve Organizing + Design, she has worked working with a range of clients: widow’s pre-move organization from large single-family home to retirement community; disabled  attorney’s home/office redesign; consultants home/office adaptation to low vision. She has held numerous roles in corporate and government change management and outsource contract transitions.  She holds master’s degrees in Organization Development and Adult Education. She is a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist and a Certified Dementia Practitioner.
